What is a user name?
Your username is a nickname that will identify your account and will appear in your public page. The user name will appear as part of your public page URL. For example, if you choose the name 'johndoe', your public page URL will be https://www.carrylinks.com/public/johndoe.
The following types of usernames are prohibited:
- name of a company, organization, group, website, or product if you are not legally authorized to use their name
- name impersonating celebrities, major world figures or leaders, etc.
- name containing words like "admin" or "system", which imply illusory authority on CarryLinks
- name containing words that are likely to offend other users or visitors
- name that seems intended to provoke emotional reaction ("trolling")
- name containing or implying personal attacks
- name showing a clear intent to disrupt CarryLinks
How do I create an account?
To create an account, click on the Sign Up button. From there, you can create a new account from scratch using your email or you can choose to sign up using your Facebook or Google Plus accounts.
I created an account, but I am unable to log in. What do I do now?
If you signed up for an account with CarryLinks and are unable to log in, you may still need to verify your email address. Simply go to your email and find the email from CarryLinks Activation. If you do not see it in your inbox, you can check your junk mail folder. Open the email and click the Activate Account button. Now, your account is activated.
I forgot my password - how do I reset it?
If you forogt your password, you can reset it. From the Login page, click on "Forgot Password?" You will be asked to enter the email you use to login. We will send you a link to reset your password. Check your email and click on the "Reset Password" button. You will be taken to a page where you can enter the new password. Make sure your password meets the requirements mentioned on the page.
Can I change my email?
Yes; you can change your email address from the Settings page. When you change your email, you will be logged out, CarryLinks will sent two automatic emails: the first a notification to your current email, and the second will include a verification link. Please login to your new email and verify your new email for it to be active in our system.
Can I change my user name?
Yes; however, CarryLinks does not recommend changing your user name. The user name is the identifier of your public page. Therefore, if someone has bookmarked your public page on their browser, they will not find your page if you change your user name. If you choose to change your user name, you can do so from the Settings page.
How do I subscribe or unsubscribe from emails?
You can subscribe to or unsubscribe from our emails at any time from the "Settings" page under "Preferences." Please keep in mind that administrative emails, such as resetting your password, confirmation emails, etc., are not affected by this option.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from the Settings page. When you click on "Delete My Account", you will be signed out from your account and an email will be sent to you. At this level, your account is "Deactivated" but not "Deleted." To confirm the deletion request and to make sure that it is you who initiated the process, login to your email and click on the "Yes – Delete My Account." There will also be a button to "Reactivate My Account." If neither of these buttons is clicked within 7 Days, your account will be deleted automatically.
Keep in mind that all your data (such as bookmarks and images will be deleted from our database); therefore, we recommend that you backup your bookmarks before delete your account.

Links and Folders
How do I import my existing bookmarks from the browser into CarryLinks?
You can easily import your existing bookmarks from any browser to CarryLinks. From the User dropdown menu, click on Transfer. A window will open and will guide you through the process. The guide will show you how to generate a file that includes all your existing bookmarks. Then, simply upload this file from the same window and all your bookmarks will be saved on CarryLinks.
How do I add links?
Either from the website or plugin, you can add a link from the "Add Link" button. Type, paste, or drag the URL you want to add. The plugin will detect the page you are visiting and will fill in the website title and description if available. Keep in mind that links should be hosted in folders. If you do not have a folder to choose, you will be promoted to create a new one.
How do I add folders?
Either from the website or plugin, you can add a folder from the "Add Folder" button. You can choose a color for your folder and decide to make it public or keep the default as private.
How do I edit or delete a link?
When you put the mouse over a link, a menu will appear with many options, such as edit, delete, create QR, share, etc. Choose the option you are interested in.

When you open a folder, a menu will appear, giving you many options to manage the opened folder. You will be able to edit or delete it. Keep in mind that when you will delete a folder, all the links inside it will be deleted as well.
How do I move a link from one folder to another?
You can move a link from one folder to another from the edit option of the link. Simply, click on "Edit" and change the folder.
Can I delete multiple links at once?
Yes; you can delete multiple links at once by checking selection box in front of the links you wish to delete, and then selecting the delete button from the top list.
Can I make all of my links private/public at once?
Yes; you can make multiple links public/private at once by checking selection box in front of the links you wish to change their privacy, and then selecting the make public/private button from the top list. If the selected links have mixed (private and public links), the first time you click on the button, they will all become private. The second time you click on the button, they will all become public, and so on.
How do I search for my links?
There are two ways to search for links: search within a folder (Search this folder) and search all your links (Search all folders).
Can I search for links owned by others?
Yes; you can search for public links owned by other users. Private links are private; they do not show in search results.
Can I backup all my bookmarks to my computer?
Yes; you can easily export your bookmarks from CarryLinks to your computer. From the User dropdown menu, click on Transfer. A window will open and will will show a "Download" button to download an "html" file. This file is what you need to import the bookmarks into browsers.
Public Pages
What can I do on public pages?
Every user gets a public webpage that start with
https://www.carrylinks.com/public/
followed by the user name
. When you make links public, they will show on your public page. On public pages, users can see the links that other users have made public. They can follow other users, like their page, make comments on their page, clone public links, share links, suggest the page to their own followers, etc. Public pages also show the user's profile image and banner(s) with links to their social media and personal/business websites.Can I search for users?
Yes; you can search for users. The search result will show you a link to their public page.
Can I see users' emails?
No. CarryLinks does not share user's email addresses. If you want to contact a user, you can make a comment on their public page, and they will be notified if they have selected to the option to be notified when someone makes a comment on their page.
What is following?
Following and getting followed by users is a great feature that you can benefit from. When you follow a user, you will be notified when they add links to their public page. The notification will show in the User bar next to an image of a bell. Similarly, your followers will get notified when you add links to your public page. You can see all your followers and the users you are following in by clicking on the number of followers/following in your Public page.
What does it mean to like a public page?
When you like a public page, a link to the page will be added to your "Liked Pages" page. All the pages you like will show in one page to make it easy for you to find any time you want. You will not get notifications when the owner of the page adds public links. Liking a page shows the owner that there are people who appreciate their sharing links.
What are "Private" and "Public" links?
When you add a link, its default privacy is "Private", meaning only you can view this link. You have the option to make it "Public", meaning it will show your public page for others to view. When someone searches for links, only "Public" links show in the results. "Private" links do not appear in our search results. With one click, you can make a link "Public" and/or "Private" whenever you want.

How do I change my profile picture?
You can change your profile picture from the Settings page. Make sure the image you are uploading meets the requirements.
Website
Does CarryLinks work on mobiles and tablets?
Yes; the CarryLinks website is responsive to small devices, such as mobile phones, tablets and other hand-held devices, to allow users to use our major services. However, some features might not be available on small devices. We are in the process of developing mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. When we are done, we will update this section and notify all our customers.
What desktop web browsers do you support?
We recommend and support the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Safari and Opera.
